Getting to the Lyre 2009 Järna Locations in Ytterjärna and at the Solvik School

The SL, Stockholm Regional Transport site offers ticket information and a travel planner for local busses and commuter trains. The SL busstop for the Solvikskolan is 'Ytter Eneby' and the one for the Kulturhuset/Örjan-school is 'Stensta (you have to walk 10 minutes) or Vidarkliniken, right in front of the Kulturhuset.Click here for the SL site

by car:

Järna is located about 40 km south of Stockholm on the E4 highway from Helsingborg. At the Järna turnoff follow the signs to Ytterjärna and kulturhuset on the route nr. 57/219 towards Nyköping. At the Ytterjärna turnoff turn left and follow the road in towards the Kulturhuset (it can be clearly seen from the road). Drive past the Kulturhuset and turn right at the sign for Örjanskolan and Vidarkliniken. The first set of buildings on the right is the Örjan School.

To get to the Solvik-school, continue past the Ytterjärna turnof for another 1-2 Km s and turn left at the Solvik sign. Follow this dirt road for a kilometer to the Solvik-school, located on the left. Use the parking at the bottom of the hill.

by train:

Stockholm Central and Söderetälje Syd are stops for SJ long distance trains that connect Sweden with the surrounding countries via Malmö and Köpenhamn. by plane:

There are two airports in the area. The closest Airport is Stockholm Skavsta, located near the town of Nyköping, about 50 Km south of Järna.This airport is operated by Ryanair and there are connections to and from most European countries and Brittain.

The main international Airport for the area is Stockholm Arlanda .The airport is located north of Stockholm and has regular train and bus connections to Stockholm city and the rest of Sweden.

From Skavsta Airport to Södertälje Syd

1.Exit the arrival terminal, and take to the right. Walk to the departure terminal.

2.Catch the Flygbussarna Airport Coach (bus) in direction Gullmarsplan (not Stockholm C).

Tickets can be bought from the driver, from the counter inside the departure terminal, or from a machine in the luggage collection hall.

3.Leave the bus at Södertälje Syd.

We will either pick you up here or you can continue by train and bus to Järna (see below)

Stockholm Arlanda Airport

There are direct long distance trains between Arlanda C and Södertälje Syd, they run about every 2 hours. Long-distance trains depart from the underground Arlanda Central Station (Arlanda C).There, the SJ railway company has a travel office where you can buy long-distance train tickets and get information about train times. SJ's interactive travel planner gives you information on both long distance and regional/commuter trains and prices, and can be found here. In the timetable linkes ot this page the ongoing trains show only white fields. Blue sections mean a change of train, usually between the Arlanda Express and the long distance train.

Commuter trains also service Arlanda. This connection is called -Upptaget. This train departs every half hour from Arlanda under the City Terminal and gets you to Upplands Väsby in 8 minutes . Change at Upplands Väsby for the SL commuter train to Södertalje: S36

From Arlanda Airport to Södertälje-Syd by long distance SJ train 

1.Follow the signs to Arlanda Central station(Arlanda C)

2.catch the SJ train #81 to Norrköping/Linköping 

3.Leave the train at Södertälje Syd

We will either pick you up here or you can continue by train and bus to Järna (see below)

From Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central using the Airport Coach.

Airport coaches serve all terminals. Tickets are available at the Arlanda Visitor Center in Terminal 5 or at the airport’s other information counters.  The airport coaches to and from Stockholm have machines at the stops where you can buy tickets.

1.Follow the signs inside the terminal to find the bus stop.

2.Catch the Airport Coach (bus) in direction Stockholm C.

3.Leave the bus at Stockholm C.

4aContinue to Södertälje Syd by long distanse SJ train (#81 to Norrköping/Linköping) or

4b.Continue to Järna by SL commuter trains #36 Stockholm to Södertälje and #37 Södertälje to Järna(see below)

From Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central using the Arlanda Express high speed train.

(This route is faster, but more expensive) At the airport, you can buy tickets for the train at the information counters or from the ticket dispenser machines located next to the escalators/lifts leading down to each station. There are escalators/lifts down to the train from all terminals.

1.Follow the signs inside the terminal to find the escalators to the underground Airport Express train station.

2.Catch the train. All trains go to Stockholm C non-stop. Tickets must be bought from the ticket machines before you enter the train. Tickets bought on the train have an extra fee.

3a.Continue to Södertälje Syd by SJ long distance train(#81 to Norrköping/Linköping) or

3b.Continue to Järna by SL commuter train (see below)

From Stockholm C to Södertälje Syd by SJ long distance train

1.Catch the SJ train #81 from Stockholm C in direction Norrköping/Linköping

2.Leave the train at Södertälje Syd.

 From Stockholm C to Järna by SL commuter train and bus. Journey Planner

1.Board the SL commuter train from Stockholm C in direction Södertälje C. Tickets can be bought at the stairs to the platform.

2.Leave the train at Södertälje Hamn.

3.Board the SL commuter train in direction Gnesta. If there is a direct connection, it is waiting at the other side of the platform.

4.Leave the train at Järna.

5.Go down the stairs from the platform, and take to the left.

6.Wait for bus #784/5 to Mörkö/Hölö at the bus stop outside of the station.

7.for the Örjan School: Leave the bus at Stensta (between Skäve and Vidarkliniken, you may ask the bus driver to alert you). You should see the Culture House and the school clearly from the bus stop. It is a couple of hundred meters to walk there. PS! A few buses also go to Vidarkliniken, next door to the Örjan School.

8.For the Solvik School: Leave the bus at Ytter Eneby (between Vidarkliniken and Åby, you may ask the bus driver to alert you).Follow the dirt road from the bus stop to the Solvik school. It is a few hundred meters walk there.
